Thinking is on by default rather than opt-in, the prompt-cache minimum drops to 512 tokens from 1024, and the full low-through-max effort ladder is available; low and medium effort are unusually strong here, which makes it cheaper to run than the sticker price suggests. Fast mode is Claude-API-only at $10/$50. Draws on a separate rate-limit pool from the Opus 4.x models.
