Boomi Alternatives (October 2026)

TL;DR: Boomi is an enterprise integration and automation platform (iPaaS) that now includes Agentstudio for building and governing AI agents. Swfte Studio is a managed builder for agents and workflows on the same platform as a model gateway. It is not an iPaaS, so teams running Boomi for integration should usually stay and ask whether they need a second tool for agents.

About Boomi and why teams compare it

Boomi describes its Enterprise Platform as the platform that puts AI into action, and its home page lists Agentstudio (build, govern and orchestrate agents), an agent control plane, Boomi Connect (governed access to 1000+ enterprise tools) and API management. Agentstudio is generally available, and its Base edition is included in all Boomi Enterprise Platform editions. Most editions are quoted by sales, with a Pay-As-You-Go option listed at $99 per month plus usage. Teams compare it with Swfte when they want agents that work across business systems and are weighing an integration platform against a purpose-built agent builder. This page compares the two on published facts and says who should stay with Boomi.

Boomi sits in the Enterprise iPaaS with an agent platform category. In short: Integration and automation platform (iPaaS) with Agentstudio for building, governing and orchestrating AI agents, run on Boomi-hosted or customer-hosted runtimes. Pricing as published is Editions are quoted through sales; the pricing page lists Standard, Professional, Professional Plus, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus tiers per product line without prices. A Pay-As-You-Go option is listed at $99 per month plus usage, billed monthly, with no contract. A $0, 30-day free trial is offered. It is best for Enterprises that need integration, API management and data work across many systems, with agents built and governed on the same platform.

Who should pick which

Pick Boomi if

  • You run an enterprise integration estate with API management and data work across many systems. Swfte is not an iPaaS, so stay on Boomi for that work.
  • You need runtimes on infrastructure you control, including agents deployed behind your firewall. Swfte offers no self-serve equivalent.
  • You want agents, integrations and APIs governed from one platform, and Agentstudio’s Base edition already comes with your Boomi edition.
  • You need SAML SSO today and your security team expects SOC, ISO 27001, HIPAA or FedRAMP documents from the vendor.
  • You want a self-service way to start on Boomi: a $0, 30-day trial, then Pay-As-You-Go at $99 per month plus usage.

Pick Swfte if

  • You want to build, test and release AI agents and workflows, and you do not need an integration or API-management platform to do it.
  • You want a published free plan and a model gateway on the same platform, with testing, versioned releases and rollbacks in the build flow.
  • You want human-approval steps in workflows and role and tenant controls, with Nexus available next to Studio for agent governance.
  • You are comfortable with Swfte’s current gaps: SAML SSO and SCIM are in development, dedicated or private deployment is scoped as an engagement and is not self-serve, and the integration catalogue is much smaller than Boomi’s.
  • You want an agent layer beside the integration platform you already run, rather than a replacement for it.

What Boomi does well

  • An integration, API-management and data platform, with Boomi Connect giving agents governed access to 1000+ enterprise tools, per Boomi
  • Agentstudio (Agent Designer, Agent Garden, Agent Control Tower) is generally available and its Base edition is included in all Boomi Enterprise Platform editions
  • Runtimes you can host yourself: Boomi says you can run on-premises, in the cloud or hybrid, and deploy agents behind your firewall
  • A compliance list that includes SOC 1 Type 2, SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, HIPAA and FedRAMP Moderate, per Boomi’s trust centre
  • A self-service Pay-As-You-Go option listed at $99 per month plus usage, and a 30-day free trial of the platform

Trade-offs to weigh

  • Most editions list no prices: the pricing page shows Standard to Enterprise Plus tiers with Talk to sales buttons, and only the Pay-As-You-Go option states a figure
  • It is an integration platform first, so teams that only need to build and release agents may carry more platform, and more concepts, than they need
  • Some agent features carry early labels in the documentation: bringing your own model is marked Early Access, and the MCP Server is marked Tech Preview
  • Product names differ between pages: the home page says Agent Control Plane and the documentation says Agent Control Tower, so confirm the name your contract uses

When Swfte is the better choice

When the aim is agents and model decisions with evaluation, versioned releases and a model gateway on one platform, and a published free plan matters. Boomi is the stronger choice for enterprise integration.

Swfte Studio builds agents and workflows visually, and uses the Connect gateway for model access, so routing, failover and cost tracking are shared. Studio lists testing and evaluation, semantic versions with rollbacks, and human-approval steps in workflows. Nexus adds agent governance. It is the agent and workflow layer, not an integration or API-management platform.

Swfte is not a replacement for Boomi’s platform. Boomi has far more connectors, API management, SAML SSO today and runtimes you can host yourself. Swfte is earlier on enterprise identity: SAML SSO and SCIM are in development, and dedicated or private deployment is an engagement, not self-serve.

Where Swfte fits

Agents that decide, not just move data

Workflows where a model chooses the next step, calls tools and may need approval fit Studio’s agent builder, with the gateway and governance on the same platform.

Tested and versioned AI steps

Studio lists A/B experiments between chatflow versions and version rollback, with golden sets, regression runs and release channels in development around the model steps.

One platform for workflows and model access

Studio uses the Connect gateway, so routing, failover and cost tracking are shared with the workflows that use them.

Keep Boomi for integration and API management

Few teams should replace an integration platform with a builder. Keep Boomi for system integration and data work, and use Swfte where an agent decision needs testing and release control.

How to migrate from Boomi to Swfte

  1. 1. Decide what Swfte would replace

Boomi is an integration and API-management platform and Swfte Studio is not one. List your Boomi processes, APIs and agents, and mark which are system integrations (usually staying put) and which are agent or model-driven (candidates for Studio).

  2. 2. Check the systems an agent touches

Boomi describes 1000+ enterprise tools through Boomi Connect. Studio lists 100+ tool integrations plus an API for custom systems. Check each system an agent-driven workflow needs against Studio’s list, and keep the Boomi process in front of any system Studio cannot reach directly.

  3. 3. Record what you have

Boomi packages components as versioned snapshots for deployment between environments. We did not find a documented export into another product, and we do not list an import for Boomi components. Treat your agent definitions, prompts, tools and guardrails as the record to rebuild by hand.

  4. 4. Rebuild one workflow in Studio

Recreate the trigger, the agent or prompt, the tools and any approval step. Studio’s free plan includes 10 workflows, 5 agents and 2,000 executions per month, enough to test one case.

  5. 5. Test on real inputs, then run both

Run 20 to 50 real inputs through Studio’s testing and compare with the Boomi agent or process. Then send live triggers to both for a while and compare outputs, failures and cost.

  6. 6. Cut over what fits

Move the agent-driven workflows once results hold, and keep Boomi for integration and governance. Check your Boomi edition and any Pay-As-You-Go usage with Boomi before you change anything.

Frequently asked questions about Boomi alternatives

Is Swfte a Boomi alternative?

Only for part of the job. Swfte Studio is a builder for AI agents and workflows, and Swfte Connect is a model gateway. Swfte is not an iPaaS or an API-management platform, so it does not replace Boomi’s integration work. Teams that only need agents on top of an existing integration layer may find Studio a closer fit.

How much does Boomi cost?

Boomi’s pricing page shows Standard to Enterprise Plus editions with Talk to sales buttons and no prices. It lists a Pay-As-You-Go option at $99 per month plus usage, billed monthly, with no contract, and does not define the usage unit. Swfte Studio publishes its plans: Free, Pro $39, Team $99 (3 users included) and Enterprise custom. The units differ, so compare on your own workload.

Does Boomi have a free plan or trial?

The pricing page offers a free trial at $0 for 30 days. It does not list a free plan. Swfte Studio has a Free plan with 10 workflows, 5 agents and 2,000 executions per month.

Is there an open-source Boomi?

We did not find an open-source edition on Boomi’s own pages, and we are not making a claim either way. If you want an open-source workflow tool, see our n8n and Activepieces pages.

Can I import my Boomi processes into Swfte?

No. We do not list an import for Boomi processes or agents, and we did not find a documented export from Boomi into another product. Rebuild the agent-driven pieces in Studio and keep the integration layer where it is.

Can I self-host Boomi?

Boomi’s runtime page says you can run on-premises, in the cloud or in a hybrid setup, and deploy agents behind your firewall. Swfte Studio is a managed service; dedicated or private deployment is scoped as an engagement, not self-serve.

Does Boomi support AI agents and MCP?

Yes. Agentstudio is generally available and includes Agent Designer, Agent Garden and Agent Control Tower, with MCP supported through the API Control Plane, Agent Designer and an MCP Server that is marked Tech Preview. Studio lists agents and multi-agent orchestration; for MCP see our MCP gateway guide.

Which is better for compliance?

Boomi’s trust centre lists 20+ certifications, including SOC 1 Type 2, SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, HIPAA and FedRAMP Moderate, and it documents SAML single sign-on. Swfte does not hold a SOC 2 report or an ISO 27001 certificate and does not sign HIPAA BAAs today; a SOC 2 Type I audit is in preparation, and the trust page has the current status. SAML SSO and SCIM are also still in development. Ask each vendor for its documents and confirm scope for your use case.
